micro:bit 3.1.1

The micro:bit app is a necessary companion to the BBC micro:bit, a compact programmable computer. With this app, you can easily flash any micro:bit hex file to your device and access the Microsoft MakeCode editor for block-based programming. The app seamlessly transfers your program code to the micro:bit via Bluetooth, following a simple step-by-step process to pair your iPad or iPhone with the micro:bit.

Version 3.1 of the micro:bit app comes with several additional features:

• A more streamlined pairing and micro:bit discovery flow
• The ability to put the micro:bit V2 into pairing mode by triple-tapping the reset button
• Retrieval of micro:bit data log files directly from the device
• The ability to pair with multiple micro:bits
• Option to select the currently connected micro:bit
• Storage of HEX files within the app
• Choice of HEX file for flashing
• Exporting and deleting HEX files
• Direct import of stored HEX files into the JavaScript Blocks editor
• Rapid download from the JavaScript Blocks editor
• Real-time monitoring of data detected by micro:bit sensors
• Utilization of various micro:bit Bluetooth services in real time
• Displaying messages on the micro:bit LEDs
• Sending control commands to the micro:bit buttons and pins
• De-bugging program code while it runs on the micro:bit
• Using a simulated gamepad to send commands to the micro:bit
• Viewing camera images for capturing photos or videos

In addition to facilitating more flexible management of program scripts and HEX files, a significant addition in Version 3 is the Monitor and Control page. This feature allows you to monitor real-time data from micro:bit sensors, send messages directly to the LEDs, and control micro:bit buttons and pins from your iPad or iPhone. The Monitor feature is particularly useful for real-time utilization of Bluetooth services and for debugging program code while it executes on the micro:bit.
